| | Geto Boys - Damn It Feels Good | ] | Although Halloween is always fun, it doesn't seem to be lingering in the air as all the years past have. It seems like fewer people are decorating and passing out candy. That's a bummer for kids. Halloween was always fun when I was a kid.
Anyway, here are some pictures of the Halloween party on Saturday at Sy's house.
 Meghan, Cassie, and I
 Matt and Jason
 Me and Meg
 Jason and I
Meg and I at the pumpkin patch.
There's a bunch more but I don't want to post.
Sunday and Monday nights were spent carving pumpkins with Meghan. It was pretty awesome. We're both addicted, although she's got it much worse than I do. I'll be bummed when they rot. I carved a stupid robot (first attempt) and last night I carved Beetlejuice, which, if you don't mind if I say myself, turned out pretty damn good. Meghan carved a skeletal dude hunched over, Charlie Brown, and a pirate. Today I'm going to attemp to carve Conan O'Brien.
Tonight we're going to Meg's friend Yolanda's house and then to another party hosted by someone fabulous. I don't feel like being out late, though. I haven't been going to bed at a reasonable hour for awhile now. |

| | Sneaker Pimps - 6 Underground | ] | I'm tired of hearing all these hippies bitch 'n moan about our government. Sure, our president is far from perfect but I'm almost positive you wouldn't be able to run this country yourself. Everyone is just so bent on allowing Hollywood actors influence their stand on politics. Most of the people bashing on political parties are only doing so because everyone else is and, frankly, it is a fad. In reality, many people don't have the slightest idea of what each parties' beliefs and principles are. Now I'm not trying to say any party is better than the other, I think all are imperfect. But fuck, this is not a eutopian society. Stop bitching and moaning about our government when you don't have the slightest fucking clue how shit works. I am in no position myself to preach and influence others but I'm just tired of uneducated people who do not know what they are talking about.
I suppose I am being hypocritical because I'm stressing a point that I have absolutely no control over, and there's nothing I can change about it. I think people just need to shutup and leave it to the experts. |

| | Animal Planet commercial | ] | I think salon atmospheres are fun. I've been going to the same guy for over five years and it's always enjoyable. I always knew he had potential to go on his own and open up his own shop and he finally did. Congrats to him. As far as my haircut goes, it's short as hell but pretty much the same style it was. I wish I had the dome structure to pull off a pixie-ish haircut. I'd even shave it if I could. I'm just not the long-haired type. I can't take care of my hair and I'm lazy.
My mom, sister, and I met up with my dad, my sister's boyfriend and his friend to have dinner at this place to have some pho. The restaurant was directly adjacent to my future house so my dad showed me around the neighborhood a bit. It's a huge neighborhood, and I live adjacent to SoB St.. I kid you not, it was spelled just like that. Son of a Bitch Street. Nice. I hope the neighbors aren't bitches.
Afterwards, I washed my hair because it felt disgusting with all that pomade in it from the salon. I don't like having pomade in my hair. It feels so nappy and heavy and oily. I met up with Jason and we hung out with some of our friends for the remainder of the night. Mick was talking about some deep shit but I don't really want to get into that.
I'm planning on having our long-awaited frozen foods party this Friday along with some karaoke and good times. Hopefully that falls through because I want to say goodbye to summer with a bang. School starts soon. I'm pretty bummed but at the same time looking forward to not fucking up this year.
I need to run some errands tomorrow and also burn Jason some CDs that he's been nagging me about. My iPod is nearly full and it's extremely difficult choosing which albums I want to remove. I suppose it doesn't really matter because I'll still have them on iTunes. Whatevz.
Hopefully my next post will contain some pictures because my LJ is pretty boring. |

| | Dick Dale & the His Del-Tones - Misirlou | ] | I just thought I'd blog it up because I can't sleep. I don't know how I'm going to hang once school rolls around. I can't find myself falling alseep anytime before 2 or 3 am. I seriously need to keep up with this thing because I'm defeating the whole purpose of signing up for this damn thing (which was for me to remember what has been going on in my life). Let's see, what's happened to me since Folsom?
I'm still unemployed and not being very productive (but hey, isn't that what summer is all about when you're my age?). Lately I've felt the artistic side of me begin to surface (again) but I have to admit, I haven't really acted upon it. I only have one sketch and none of my photographs are anything artistic. Well, besides my lomographs. I need supplies, badly. I don't know if right now is a good time to start all this, though. I should be moving in a couple months and it's going to be hectic. This weekend was spent throwing out all our old shit that we've had lying around the shed and garage for God knows how many years. Paid some guy to come pick it up and get rid of it. I wouldn't be surprised if he sold a lot of that crap and made a killing off of it.
I would like to hit up West San Carlos street pretty soon. For those who don't live in the area, West San Carlos is like, antique heaven. Too bad everything is way over priced. I'd also like to go to Paramount's Great America sometime before the summer ends. I live only a few miles away from it and I haven't gone in over seven years. That's ALMOST as bad as living right next to Disneyland and never going. What am I saying? It's nothing compared to Disneyland. Man, I hope we go to Disneyland again before the year is over. I'd love to experience it whilst in Winter Wonderland mode. That would make it my third trip there in a year.
As far as summer goes, it really only felt like summer (temp. wise) for maybe two weeks. I remember our summers used to be unbearable and extremely humid. This summer has been fair, probably averaging 75-85 degrees F. I'm not complaining. It's just not that hot where it's unbearable and I'm dying to jump into a pool.
I haven't got much else to say, so until next time, ciao. |

| | Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Gold Lion | ] | Jason, Travis, and I left for Folsom Friday afternoon. We stayed at Jason's aunt and uncle's house there. It was so nice being there although it was averaging 115 degrees fahrenheit. We went outside and went for a swim in their backyard whenever we felt like it. On Sunday, we took their boat out and spent the day on Folsom Lake and wakeboarded, too. I got major butterflies before it was my turn because I've never gone wakeboarding ever. Surprisingly, I got up my first time around but I couldn't do it again after that. I think I attempted it four more times. Jason got up after a few attempts. Austin, Nicole and Kyle are really good at it. What do you expect? They live literally five minutes away from the lake. Anyway, I got an awesome tan and got even tanner swimming at Travis' house for hours yesterday. Overall it was extremely fun being there for four days. Thanks to Terry, Glenn, Austin, and Nicole for letting us stay at your lovely home. :D
And here are some pictures
Austin's Friend Kyle about to go for an awesome run.
Austin and a bit of me and Kyle's head.
 Austin getting huge air
 Jason got up! Yay!
Jason and I went and saw You, Me, and Dupree last night. I suppose it was a pretty good movie. Well, it definitely kept me entertained but I was expecting it to be much more of a comedy than a romantic-comedy. We were almost the only ones in the theatre but right when the previews started, a few couples trickled in. I've never been alone in a theater before.
Today, I went and applied at several places in the mall because I can't afford being unemployed anymore. My cash flow is running low and I gotta make payments. Man, unemployment sucks. |

| RDHP - Tooth Fairy Project |
[Jul. 20th, 2006|02:00 am] |
In an effort to raise awareness of radiation, more specifically Strotium-90 (a radioactive isotope), that is polluting our Earth by nuclear power plants, I am writing this blog. It is not very well known by the people that studies have come to the conclusion that children living in areas around nuclear power plants are more likely to get cancer. Although it is not proven, the statistics alone are convincing enough. In the same decade that emissions from nuclear reactors increased, there was an increase of cancer in children ages ten and under. Nuclear power plants pose a great danger because of their frequent emissions of low-level radiation (radiation must be released in order to create energy) and also the potential danger of a nuclear melt-down where tons of radiation would be released.
"To produce electricity, reactors must routinely release radioactive chemicals into the air and water. More than 100 chemicals in gas or particle form are released, and enter the body through breathing and the food chain. Each is cancer-causing and damages different parts of the body: Strontium-90 attaches to bone and teeth..."
- Joseph Mangano (national coordinator of RDHP)
Although there isn't much we can do about it right now, you can help by spreading the word. Also, you can donate baby teeth. The project is called the Tooth Fairy Project. Visit The Tooth Fairy Project (www.radiation.org) to learn more about why they study baby teeth.
Basically, the body gets fooled by Sr-90 and deposits it into the bones and teeth because chemically, calcium and Strotium-90 are very much alike. While Sr-90 remains in the bones and teeth, it continually emits cancer causing radiation into the body. Sr-90 has a life of about 29 years.
Not only do these radioactive chemicals harm children, they can cause breast cancer.
"...of the 3,000-odd counties in the United States, women living in about 1,300 nuclear counties (located within 100 miles of a reactor) are at the greatest risk of dying of breast cancer."
To learn more about the Radiation and Public Health Project, visit their website. www.radiation.org
If you know someone with children, let them know about this study and ask them to donate their child's tooth to the Tooth Fairy Project. |

| San Jose was an oven today |
[Jul. 17th, 2006|07:37 pm] |
It was extremely HOT today (low 100's) in San Jose so Vannessa and I decided to go to the beach. We got to Rio Del Mar in Capitola but it was foggy as heck suddenly, so we went to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk instead, where it was nice and warm. We went on the rides Typhoon and Logger's Revenge (it's a classic) and had ourselves a good time. When we got back in San Jose we went to Carl's Jr. because we figured it'd be nice and air conditioned there.
But that's not it.
I got home and took a nice COLD shower (my first cold shower all summer) and didn't even blowdry my hair. Instead of blowdrying my hair with a hair dryer, I dried it in front of the fan.
I came into my room to turn on my laptop and suddenly I felt the urge to vomit. And I did. And it was a lot. I have never thrown up that much in my life. It was weird to me, because I've never thrown up out of the blew like that before, so I laughed. Then, I took a picture since my digicam was right next to me. My mom called me disgusting. Anyway, here's a picture, but I'll put it in an LJ cut just in case you don't want to look at it.

Goals
Alright. So, lately I've been coming up with a lot of goals for myself. Then I thought I'd type them down in a blog so I wouldn't lose it. Unless, of course, I read it someday and deem it stupid and delete it. Oh well, let's get started. These are some goals that I would like to accomplish in the near future, or by the age of 25. 30 is pushing it.
- Start painting. What influenced me? Or shall I say whom? Gregory Euclide and Jeff Soto. Hey, I can dream.
- Backpack through Europe. Hopefully this will be accomplished by the end of next summer.
- Live abroad for a year or two. I highly doubt this will ever fall through but if it did, I'd love to live in NYC (doesn't really count as abroad but it's far enough) or Paris. I can probably accomplish this by joining a program where I can teach English in another country for at least a year.
- Finish school and begin teaching. It'd be miracle if this happened before 25. Please, please, please.
- Pay off my credit card.
Knowing me, there will be much more to be added and deleted as time goes by. Say, like, a week. But, we'll see. |

| | Howard Tate - I Learned It All the Hard Way | ] | Yesterday wasn't as hot as I was hoping it would be. I had my bathing suit on underneath my dress so I could be ready to jump into the pool but it was way too windy. A lot of people showed up but not many people commited for the whole night. Only Jason, Edmund, Ian, Matt, and I went to see the fireworks. Meg and Cassie left a little too late and got stuck in traffic so they only saw a bit from their car. Although a lot of people left, I still had fun because the remaining people were the people I'm most comfortable with, anyway. Thanks to Meg for hosting a fab party at her wonderful apartment.
Ian, Travis and Jason reading "English As a Seconf F***ing Language"
Carlos and Claire listening to someone's iPod
 Matt catchin' some Z's
 Vannessa and I
 Jason, Travis, and Edmund
Jason and I <3 (Mind you, these picture were taken much later in the day. Don't ask why we're all so tired)
Afterwards, Jason and I met up with Travis and Vannessa at Travis' house. We ended up watching "Date Movie" because Travis DVR'd it (TiVo's sound effects are so damn annoying). The movie was entertaining, I suppose, but I didn't really laugh. They took many of their parodies too far, not as in "crossing the line" but they stretched it on for way too long to the point that it wasn't humorous anymore. After that, we called it a night.
I pretty much tossed my diet out the window (I've been on the cabbage soup diet), but hopefully I'll get back on track. |

| | REM - Losing My Religion | ] | So I've had LJ multiple times within the past two years. This is the first time I've kept one for over a year, yet I only had one post. I realized how lame it was, though, so I deleted it. So this will be my official first post. I think it's a good idea for me to jot down exciting things that are happening in my life so I can come back to this in several years and laugh at myself in embarrassment. I don't have much to talk about today so we'll wait for something exciting to happen.
Today IS the fourth of July so I'm pretty sure there will be some crazy things to write down here tomorrow. |
